1st Grade Teacher
I graduated from Kennard High School in 1982, and from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1986.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Education and am certified to teach 1st-6th grade, and am also certified in Deaf Education. I have an English as a Second Language certification, as well.
I have taught PreK, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade, and have also served as a librarian. I have been teaching for over 30 years. I have taught in Crockett, Hudson, and Kennard. I returned to Kennard to teach 1st grade in 2018. First grade is my favorite grade to teach!
My husband, Jason, and I have been married 36 years. Jason is a pilot on the 777 for United Airlines. We have two sons, Jared and Evan, and a daughter, Morgan. Jared is married to our wonderful daughter in law, Alexis, and they have two children. Our sweet grandson, Jack, is 3, and our precious granddaughter, Piper, is 9 months old. Our sons and daughter in law all graduated from Texas A&M University. Evan additionally graduated from Southern Methodist University with his law degree. Jared is a crop duster, Alexis is a horticulture sales manager with Greenleaf Nursery, and Evan is an attorney with the Attorney General’s Office for the State of Texas. Our daughter, Morgan, is a junior at Texas A&M University, and is studying to be an elementary teacher. We enjoy our pets, three dogs and three cats.
I enjoy running with my husband, helping out with activities at our church, Keltys First Baptist in Lufkin, and spending time with my family at the beach. My favorite thing to do when I’m not teaching is to read. I love to read, and reading to my grandchildren and my first graders.
